Graaff-Reinet : Magazine Hill

While visiting Graaff-Reinet we drove to Magazine Hill while searching for the Union Monument.  Our map was not very clear about how to get to the monument and we had some trouble to find it.  Along the way we saw the Powder Magazine.

This Magazine, which dates back to the end of the first half of the nineteenth century, was erected on free- hold land that was granted to John Biddulph in 1834.  It was declared a Provincial Heritage Site in 1971.

But the best part of this stop was not the powder Magazine but the beautiful view of the town.
